Reducing spam from BlogEngine .NET

Update 3: Removing the website field seems to do the trick. Thinking about it, a simpler alternative may be to just rename the standard website TextBox ID name. Update 2: Now I realise what is missing from BlogEngine .NET. Captcha! Update: It seems that spammers are now just inserting links directly into the comments. I guess if there's a will there's a way.  If you use BlogEngine .NET, yo... [More]

Twitter TwitThis extension for BlogEngine .NET

After trying out DotNetKicks, I reckon it's a pain to click a button and then still have to fill out a title and description to recommend a webpage. What can I say, I'm lazy. But as they say, a lazy software engineer is a good software engineer. :) So I decided to have a look at twitter and see if there's a bookmark extension for it. I found TwitThis. You can download the plugin for Wordpress to import your blogML.xml file into Wordpress fr... [More]

BlogEngine.NET Twitter plugin

I sidetracked today. I had a go at implementing a Twitter plugin for BlogoEngine.NET. As usual, my lazy self got me googling to see if someone else has already done the job. Nope, couldn't find any plugin except bits and pieces of code here and there. Also, found out that there are 2 twitter clients out there at the moment so you don't have to log into the twitter site just to tweet.... [More]

blogengine.net

I have finally gotten around to start documenting my adventures in ASP .NET. Hopefully, some entries might be of some help to someone and I am not completely wasting my time. Firstly, I was looking for a quick way to get some kind of blog up asap. Although I would love to use WordPress but I didn't have the time to get started with PHP. Not that I have anything against PHP but i just di... [More]
